I think about getting accepted a lot, especially in the past week. I’m trying not to become fixated because the possible disappointment will be that much worse.
I hope they’ll tell us the definite date soon! Don’t leave us hanging…
I started this process with what I believe is the safe assumption that if I ask “Will (school with <15% acceptance rate) accept me?” the answer will almost invariably be no, but I’ll get in somewhere.
For the same reasons as any applicant not named Rockefeller or Malia Obama, I’ll most likely be rejected by UChicago, and I’ve made peace with that fact. That leaves more scope for a pleasant surprise than it does for a disappointment.
Not that I like the 10-day wait to find out, mind you.
Last year they announced when decisions would be released on the 12th… I hope it’s not that late this year
Sometimes I have dreams of university decisions coming out and opening the portal, and then I wake up -_-
I just realized within 10 days, I’ll probably know if I’ve been admitted… I’m hoping for the best. It’s very surreal, but if I don’t get admitted, then I need to finish applications for RD schools…
@whatisalie It’s crazy. Although, even if I am accepted, my parents are making me apply to more schools to have my options open. I wish you all the best!
If we are accepted, do we also get a Financial Aid decision/estimate?

UChicago seems to release their EA decisions quite late compared to other elite schools, right?
Only a couple days later at most, it would seem… I know Columbia releases there’s on the 10th, Brown is the 15th, and Johns Hopkins is the 16th.
Does UChicago reject in the EA round? Or only accept/defer?
I believe they do reject some applicants, but not many… And yeah, they should give us a financial aid estimate.

For how many of you is UChicago your top choice? It seems like many of us applied ED somewhere and have UChicago as a secondary option.
