UChicago Class of 2022 Discussion

Is the 18th confirmed?

@vicecube No, the official answer from UChicago is they have not decided on a date but they will announce soon. College Board says UChicago will let us know by the 18th.

Their website says the 17th, which only helps a little. https://prospects.uchicago.edu/decisions (under “A Sincere Thank You to our Applicants”

If I’m not mistaken that’s an old page… it also shows the “No Barriers” program as new there as well. I think the 17th was the release date for 2015, which was a Monday as well.

Aww rip, that’s disappointing/good if they get released earlier.

@Rand2020 Thank you for the help! I’m just going to assume the 18th then.

Yes I did…anyone care to share theirs?

Anyone wonder… what area would there be the most ED apps from?

The anticipation is killing me right now! Can’t believe we are just over a week away.

Take with a grain of salt.

A Sincere Thank You to our Applicants

As we prepare to release your admissions decision on December 17th, we want to take this moment to say “thank you” – you are ALL amazing. You have challenged yourself to explore meaning through language’s untranslatable words, to express your personality in terms of acids, bases, and buffers, and to successfully explore the oddity of odd numbers. You are among the most brilliant, ambitious, and academically qualified students in the world. We feel privileged to have shared in your ideas and accomplishments, and to have gotten to know you.

Best wishes to all,
James G. Nondorf
Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid

@ReqCollatz I’m pretty sure that’s from a few years ago. It’s probably going to be the 18th, but to my knowledge a date still hasn’t been decided.

They seriously need to keep their website updated T.T. Its pretty sad that the class profile is over a year old and that the decision date hasn’t been updated in years.

Nevermind! My question was answered. c:

I would almost bet on the fact that they’ll announce Monday that they’ll release decisions on the 18th.

Here is a countdown to midnight on the 18th in Chicago… It’s really close and I shouldn’t complain, but I want decisions now… :frowning:

same! one week+ sounds like torture as everyone else gets decisions these upcoming days!!! @mjades

Last year I think they released decisions at either 4 or 5 central time. Maybe they’ll be nice and release decisions on the 15th, though unlikely!

I have a query regarding what is one supposed to do after getting the results of UChicago. Suppose one gets accepted. He/She has to pay some deposit and apply to some dorm, right? I am not so clear about this, especially about the dorm thingy. Like, suppose I want some XYZ dorm, do I need to apply their or something or just give my name that I am interested and they take in people on first come basis.

I know this thought might be a bit far-fetched given that the results have not even been declared. However, just wanted to know how the system works at UChicago. Can someone please provide me insight into this?

Thank You!

After one commits to the College by validating a form stating such and paying the deposit, your identity is placed on a queue. You then have many months to submit your top three dorm choices through their accepted student portal without losing your place in line. That’s how I remember it.

Hope this helps.
