UChicago EA Applicants 2018

I kind of want to swim test back, anyone with me?

i think you know why, but heck no!

You would be exempt by the test helps with the bonding! Too bad

i’ll bond with people in the library or something

The library is the best place to meet interesting people anyway :)

true that :)

That is true, but it takes some fun out of O-week.

i’ll just have to socialize in my own way like i always have :)

I bet you will, but it adds to the whole college experience. I’ll just play soccer then.

Interview tonight! Don’t know whether to be excited or nervous

Just got contacted by my interviewer today! I assumed I would be matched to someone in the area, but it will actually be by Skype. Super nervous mainly because my internet is horrible and I’m sick with a sore throat and stuffed nose, and he says Wednesday would be best for him…

He posted the exact same thing on a few other EA threads verbatim. Obvious ■■■■■ is obvious.

@imp good luck!

enoughnerve: save your nice words for an actual person. If a post is suspicious, you should immediately look at posting history. That poster just said he was rejected from UChgo, PTon and Harvard early applications today. Don’t be tricked by idiots like that.

^good analysis! We should post our states when we get our decision!

I just got an email about an interview, but I didn’t even request one!
Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope, if you applied AE then it is too late for the admission to view it.

I finally found this thread! Hi everyone, I’m from Cincinnati Ohio, but hope to call Chi-town home this fall!!!
BTW if you have an ‘X’ on your UChicago account checklist, don’t panic - we all have until December 2nd to send in any other forms/papers/magical fairy dust we need for admission.
I too am extremely anxious about this admissions decision, probably because I would love to not have to fill out 8 more applications
My interview was face-to-face at a local Panera, very chill, the alumna was nice, and very chatty as well! My advice for applicants for their interviews is not to prepare any rehearsed answers, but just have a nice sense of yourself now and yourself in the future (tentatively, they understand we change our minds). I know every interviewer is different, but just relaxing and even cracking a joke or two is great as long as the interviewer gets a glimpse of your personality.

Anyways, I hope the admissions committee still has a sense of humor when they get to my essays, because the whole thing sounds like I might be hanging out with a blinged-out Lucy in the sky…

GOSH SO NERVOUS (sorry guys)

Just had my Skype interview! It went great and both were really nice. To anyone who has been wondering, my interviewer told me in his initial email that he had to submit his report on the interview by December 1, so that must be the cutoff date. He also said interviews are supposed to be about half an hour long (mine was a little under 25 minutes). Good luck to anyone interviewing this week!

Wow I was never contacted about any interview even after checking the box ): Skype or otherwise. Why would this happen? It seems like everyone else has gotten some kind of interview.
