@mermaid i wouldn’t worry, they don’t have room to accommodate everyone who wants an interview, especially with 6000 more ea apps this year. it’s nothing against you.

@iron. How many applied?

It’s only like 6 or so percent more who applied, not 6000 more.

ah ok, maybe it was 6000 total

no, around 11000.

wow i must be really tired or confused, sorry :)

I am confused. Is it 6000 people who applied or plus 6 percent( if so where does this percentage comes from)?

11413 applicants, they probably will admit the same amount of students as last year. You think so too?

yeah i think it will be about the same amount

UChicago is become quite the attraction among colleges.

yeah it’s definitely gotten more popular, although i don’t care how selective it is, i care about learning and finding likeminded people.

Same here! I just want to learn from the best, and become the best( with fun).

Guys, what is ‘mid-December’? 11th to 20th?

Last year, they sent them out on the 18th, so I guess we should expect something similar (if not later) this year.

You guys! I’m freaking out! Today I logged onto my common app and under my COMPLETED Uchicago application it said “There was an issue with Recommender Assignment for this college. Click here for more details.” This warning did not appear when I first submitted my application. When I looked further, my recommendations had been deleted because my education was supposedly not filled out completely. It is complete! I don’t understand how this could happen AFTER I submitted my application, after everything was double-checked and okay. The UChicago website says I have all of my materials but I’m still worried. Can someone clear this up for me?

I think if UChicago says it’s all good it probably is, but I would definitely call their office just to be sure.

Do you think they’re open today on Thanksgiving?

I tend to doubt it, but it can’t hurt to call.

Probably the admin office is closed. But please calm down and enjoy your thanksgivings with your family. You cannot do anything at this moment. And then just call them after holidays. This was same advice to my D when she had some issue in other case.

I am calm, I was just worried because the last day to submit materials is Monday.
