Yeah so basically I’m going to come home from school and refresh my email until it’s ready

i have to stay after school for something. contemplating between checking it while i’m there and waiting until i get home…

it’s obviously EST guys

why? chicago is in the central time zone

But isn’t everything standardized with EST (or at least it’s supposed to be)?

I think the tumblr page said “late afternoon” was “anchored in CST.”

I guess it really doesn’t matter either way, we’ll still all find out together sometime late afternoon
I just have my dork-y countdown set with their time lol

yeah, it doesn’t really matter. but some central time zone schools release decisions based on their respective time, like washu.

idk whatever it isn’t worth fretting over

@gossipgirlxoxox You aren’t the only one with a timer :)

Wow compared to all of you guys I haven’t done anything nor tried as hard. I’ve already changed my whole common app, and everything. Plus I’ve added additional info and stuff that I didn’t do for Chicago. Guess all I can do is hope

some people did try harder than others without a doubt. but everyone applying to uchicago certainly didn’t breeze through high school nor the application process, so don’t feel as if you are inadequate. it’s not worth it at this point

True with all the people above say. We are all qualified for any colleges in the world. We just need to wait to see what would be the best and right option for us; hopefully we are all get to go to where we want to go. Cheers!

just out of curiosity, any one here wrote the pH essay? and specifically, anyone here wrote the essay mentioning chemical buffers? I saw on Chicago’s wed the ‘thank you’ note (http://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/) they mentioned some pH essays talking about buffers, which was my topic. anyone also wrote this?

and totally irrelevant, anyone here enjoys movies from studio ghibli?

I talked about the untranslatable word.

Wow - they are thanking the student who wrote about untranslatable words? That’s me!

Am I In?

@mjordanw21 and @NateChortek that must have happened in the common app or wen you converted the file to a .pdf. Either way, I’m sure you’re fine. The admissions counselor will almost certainly understand your meaning.

@mahoushojo I used the pH prompt, but I didn’t talk about buffers. I made up a fake pH scale to represent my interest in both science and art. And YES I love Studio Ghibli films! Howl’s Moving Castle is my favorite, but they’re all amazing.

@mahoushojo and @Ctesiphon Haha the note was extremely inclusive. I think it was just meant to thank all of us for putting so much time and effort into our UChicago applications. They’re saying that there were truly amazing applicants this year, and that they’re grateful for it. It’s nice. It’s kind of like telling us that they know we work really hard, that they appreciate that we poured our hearts and souls into our college applications, and that they understand how much they mean to us.

I didn’t submit my pH essay- I did the odd numbers one- but I did write it about buffers that’s so funny! Also studio Ghibli films are awesome!!

im kind of freaking out because im realizing i should have spent so much more time on the why chicago essay!!! ugh
