Bruh I’m so nervous, I can’t sleep at night. Everytime I get an email, I flinch thinking its from a university. HELP ME FAM…
@littlecutefishy same here! I worried they review the application, and decided to defer or reject so took the email off their mailings
I’m pretty sure they take ypu off the app list once your app is sent in. That’s what I heard at least.
did any of you get an e-mail as to when decisions are released?
Decided to apply EDII after being rejected from the loml, Penn ED!!!
I think you are the first EDII to join the thread…welcome and good luck!
Did any other international student receive this?
Thank you for applying to the University of Chicago. According to our records, you have NOT applied for need-based financial aid. If you and your family have the resources to pay the full cost of attending four years of college at the University of Chicago, and you will not need to apply for need-based financial aid, please disregard this message. NO ACTION IS REQUIRED.
As a non-US citizen or non-US permanent resident, if you do not apply for financial aid before your admissions decision is finalized, you will not be eligible for any subsequent financial aid if you are admitted or at any point during your four years in the College. We recommend that students do not rely on merit-based aid if they do not have the funds to afford their entire four years at UChicago.
If you DO wish to apply for need-based financial aid, you must notify us immediately via email at internationaladmissions@uchicago.edu so we can adjust your records accordingly. You will then need to complete the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) online through your UChicago Account by Friday, December 16th, following the instructions available at https://collegeadmissions.uchicago.edu/costs/international-aid.
Please note that the ISFAA is the only form used by UChicago for need-based financial aid applications if you are not a US citizen or US permanent resident. This includes out-of-status, Deferred Action plan or otherwise undocumented students. If you have submitted a different form in error – such as the CSS Profile – you will need to complete the ISFAA. Otherwise, your financial aid application will remain incomplete.
Please email us at internationaladmissions@uchicago.edu if you have questions or if you believe you received this message in error.
Best regards,
The International Admissions Team
I did
Did you guys apply through the common app or the Chicago portal?
why is uchicago still sending me ads to ‘consider applying’ as if I didn’t apply and as if I weren’t ridiculously desperate for this school to approve me go away stop teasing me uchicago :((
@littlecutefishy yep youre probably overthinking. Dont worry too much
@macsanya commonapp.
I did common app, but I scheduled all of my visits and my interview through the UChicago portal.
well its good to hear that everything is fine, and that we have a set date for decisions!! good luck everyone, I’m sure we can make it!
Yeah, I don’t feel like I’m going to be fine at all… got rejected from Columbia last week and UChicago is just as selective :((
I guess we’ve done all we can already. Nothing left to do except wait. Painfully. And regardless of what happens, I’m sure that we’ll all end up someplace where we belong. At least, that’s what I’m trying to convince myself to believe. In my mind I’m anxious asf and I have no chill
Good luck, everyone!
No matter what happens Monday, just know that you each are incredible students and are going to be successful wherever you go. Until then, try not to worry too much, it’s all just a numbers game anyway. To throw in a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them quote:
“My philosophy is if you worry, you suffer twice”
- Newt Scamander
Was that for EA odd ED? Man I’m stressing out, I did not get that
Did anyone else get an email from the University about college houses today? It ended with “If you can imagine yourself as part of a dynamic community that lives, eats, studies, and plays together, consider the University of Chicago.”
@student1978 nope i didn’t get that one
