Does anyone know if they give merit aid to students? If so, what qualifications did I have to pass for merit aid?
Well, I talked to my counselor and she said that UChicago called her the day before decisions came out to discuss my mid year report. They were gonna admit me, but wanted to make sure I did nothing wrong. My counselor had to tell them what I did and so they revoked my acceptance and denied me. As expected, what I did is a zero tolerance policy for UChicago admissions. If they had found out after I was admitted, they would rescind it soon after.
Tldr; UChicago was gonna admit me if I did nothing wrong; however, my counselor talked to them about it and they had to decline my acceptance.
I guess I learned my lesson :’(

@TheShortSon I guess you really did something Chicago considered to be a deal-breaker. What are you going to do with your other colleges? You should figure out a course of action to mitigate the damages before they all reject you. It doesn’t sound like guidance is going to help you. Are you at a private or public school? Is guidance allowed to reveal everything to colleges?
I was admitted to UMichigan and I’m awaiting Ross Preferred Admission. That’s my top choice. I don’t know about the other colleges.

@JBStillFlying they don’t receive my mid year report. That’s good.
@TheShortSon they will receive your final transcripts and the discipline issue will very likely be noted there! Have you spoken to your guidance counselor about this???
@TheShortSon You NEED to speak to your guidance counselor about your midyear report. Tell them that you’ve learned your lesson and to NOT put it on final transcripts. School counselors are not supposed to deliberately attempt to ruin their students’ lives!
@JBStillFlying @AshleyMisAwesome Guidance counselor said it will not be on my final transcript. Also, on the mid year report, my guidance counselor just checked the box that said “call to discuss.” That is why UChicago called. Still kind of mad that I was gonna be admitted, but I ruined it for myself by being an idiot.
Let’s hope I have a chance at other schools
@TheShortSon Aww, I’m so sorry! Is there any way that the counselors can not tell your other RD schools?
@AshleyMisAwesome Nope. I have to keep my chin up and accept the consequences. I am already in a great place (UMichigan). Everything else from now on is just a bonus or surprise.
