@TheShortSon - a poor choice concerning even a small matter can have a huge and unpleasant consequence. The poop needed to hit the fan somewhere. It is a shame about UChicago but you really do sound like you now understand how the dots can be connected w/r/t something like this. If the temptation arises again, you have the wisdom now to say “nope”. UMichigan is a wonderful acceptance and if you get into Ross that’s a huge bonus. Do keep us informed. And good luck to you - you can have a very bright future filled with good things.
@TheShortSon: We all make mistakes. Whatever it was, looks like you have learned from it. Now it is up to you to show all those who bet on you that they made a great choice and the ones that didn’t, to sit up and take notice of your achievements. Good Luck with the rest of your process. God Bless

@TheShortSon I know hindsight is 20/20 but did you seek legal counsel regarding the infraction and the intended reporting process prior to your counselors discussion with UChicago ?
I’m sure I’m not the only one here that feels for you and your predictament. Hopefully it can be a teaching lesson for others in future classes.

For those who were waitlisted please join my group of waitlisted students. I know how it feels… and we all need motivation and support up until the end of May when the admissions office lets us know if we have gotten a spot or not.
The infamous scarf arrived today.
D17 got hers as well! Wrapped around the UChicago Survival Guide (or whatever it’s called). She said there was definitely a lot of pertinent information in there, but we were chuckling at the advice to bring a flash drive and back up your schoolwork, etc. My kids have been on the cloud for a couple years now at least. The new MacBook Pros don’t even have a USB port (though personally I think that’s a mistake). Hopefully UChicago will update it’s technological advice in the near future!

So is the book a subtle reference to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy…and is the scarf a reference to The Doctor from Doctor Who? :-?
@Sam-I-Am exactly what I thought. There is also reference to the scavenger hunt as well regarding a 10ft long scarf.
