For those of you applying for financial aid, does your FAFSA still say “Awaiting” on the checklist?
@uclabound1, it used to say that up until a week ago, but now it says received.
@uclabound1 - it says received 2/22, but I submitted it 1/5.
@phoenixmomof2 Don’t worry! If you read the financial aid box description, it says that the FAFSA would be processed by the middle of February.
@phoenixmomof2 I copied it for you:
This checklist does NOT apply to international students applying for international financial aid. If you are an international student applying for financial aid, please submit your International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) and supporting documents online through your UChicago Account following these instructions.
Please note that the Office of College Aid will be able to confirm receipt of your FAFSA in late February. You will receive confirmation directly from the U.S. Department of Education soon after you file.
I wasn’t worried @TheUnicornPimp, I was answering @uclabound1 's question. But thank you.
My financial aid checklist is still there, its just that it used to have all checkmarks, but then they sent me an email and changed the checkmarks to x’s until I updated the form. Now that I have uploaded everything I have checkmarks again
@nandroida Updated what form?
Should I be worried that my FAFSA is still labeled as missing? Anyone else?
@uclabound1
Don’t be too worried, they are being barraged with so much stuff that they need time to process everything.
@Maroonsfan Uploaded it to the uchicago applicant portal. I am an international, so i do stuff there
My application checklist doesn’t say anything about receiving FAFSA… Does this mean I’m rejected…
So where else did you guys apply to/get accepted to?
@ugh212 I did not apply for financial aid but I highly doubt UChicago would give out such a clue. Relax (me telling you to relax is kind of ironic though, I’ve been malfunctioning due to stress lately :)) ) Wish you good luck.
Do you guys know whether or not UChicago values demonstrated interest?
@spiderwoman I read from a post on CC that they do track interest. and tell me about it; if i’m not actively distracting myself, i am panicking about uchicago.
@gossipgirlxoxox I applied to Tulane, UT Austin, Columbia, UPenn, Stanford (deferred), Brown, USC, Rice, and UChicago of course. So far I’ve only gotten my decision for UT (accepted). What about you?
I applied to Rice, THE Ohio State(accepted), American University, Vanderbilt, Cornell, and Yale, and UChicago(deferred)
“THE” Ohio State. LOL.
Hey if you were a national champ you would say ‘THE’ too. We’re THE one and only, lol
@gossipgirlxoxox Just curious which one is your top choice?
Definitely Chicago just because of the atmosphere and I have zero chance at Yale
