Time to restart the clock... looks like we have some more waiting to do.

Do you know what this means? Do we even have a chance? Historically, how successful have people been on the UChicago waiting list?

5oviet reporting for wait list duty

I found an article that said 71 students were admitted off wait-lists in 2011, but there was no total number wait-listed.

Was wait listed also. Any idea how many get wait listed?

Considering how many people UChicago deferred (I was one of them), I’m thinking a TON were waitlisted. Way more than 71… Oh well haha.

Anyone choosing a gap year?

I was wait-listed also. I checked the College Board page for UChicago cause they typically supply info on how many people are offered a place of the waiting list, but UChicago didn’t report.

Wait listed applicant reporting for duty

Wait listed :(

waitlisted…do they always waitlist so many people? feels equivalent to getting rejected!

I checked and one page said Uchicago waitlisted around 800 people last year in an applicant pool of 30,000 so it is not the same though it does feel that way

Is accepting a waitlist offer binding?

no of course not, does it even matter though its a waitlist

Can someone please explain in detail the “I wish to remain on the waitlist and would consider taking a voluntary gap year” option? I’d love a definition of a voluntary gap year.

Haha I like how I started a reporting for duty trend… Eating ice cream and watching the clone wars on Netflix just cause it came out and I’m lame

I’m pretty stoked about being put on the waitlist. I’d like to think of it as a good sign for what’s to come with other schools! :] With a 3.5 UW GPA and a 2120 , I was expecting flat-out rejection from this place with their high SAT standards xD
