why the 29th u guys? UCSC said untill May 1st. so i was planning to do it april 30 after my appeals come in.

I had a friend who SIRed on the last hour of the deadline. It makes no difference if you register one day, one hour, or one second before the deadline. You don’t get a prize =P. Just wait it out.. I mean how badly will you be kicking yourself if you find out that you got into UCI, but already spent that $100 SIR’ing to another school you didn’t really want to go to?

^ i already SIRed to riverside, but i’m going to cancel it if i get into irvine. i don’t really care about the $100~

Once you start college you’ll start caring about every dollar in your wallet =P

Does that mean we shouldn’t be spending money on our senior prom and stuff to save for college? =(

forget that i am going to my senior prom and enjoying myself if oyu know what i mean

Haha definitely don’t start thinking about college expenses yet. Enjoy your last few months as a senior and have the best summer with the friends you won’t be seeing as much before college starts. As a first-year, you won’t have much to pay for except for books and eating off-campus with your friends. If you’re planning to get a job, I’d hold off for a quarter just so you could get used to the environment first.

What makes you think Irvine will decide anything by the 30th or even the 1st. I think we won’t know for a couple more weeks at this pace.

I called the office of Admissions today, and she said there is a policy they have on not being able to tell status over the phone. She also admitted when I pointed out how close the deadlines for SIR were that the office probably won’t get them out by May 1st so they strongly suggest an alternate plan for college.
Freaking UCI!

so i’m guessing we won’t even get to hear until the end of may. housing contracts for ucr come out may 1st and theres a $250 deposit fee for that… i don’t know if that’s refundable, but if its not, thats $350 i would be losing… -_-

UCI sucks, so the will send you emails telling you their decision, but won’t tell you in person or verbally. Whats up with that.

I have the same UCR issue in terms of dorm deposit, SIR deposit, etc. I checked with UCR and you don’t need to send the dorm deposit in until June 1st. Not sure if you cause youself problems if you reserve a dorm room and never send a deposit, such as they won’t let you recind you SIR until you pay the deposit. I did not ask that specifcally. Maybe I would jsut stick with UCR anyway if UCI continues to take forever. Since I want to come to a final decision in the next week or so,

ucIrvine was my dream school ughh!!
i have a quick question..

when you hear “UCSB” or “UC Santa Barbara”..what is the first thing that comes to your mind?
do you give them a little respect? or do you assume they party all the time?
if you see someone at Borders wearing a UCSB sweater, what do you begin to assume about that person?

Wow, I knew Irvine had difficulties of punctuality from past experiences last year, but that’s just crazy. They really seem to be taking their time. I feel for whoever still has to wait for their appeals past May.. as if waiting for the regular round of admissions didn’t give you a heart attack already!

I just sent my SIR to UCR, forget UCI =[

Freshmen aren’t guaranteed housing if they’re admitted after May 1st… will you guys still go to UCI (if your appeal works) anyways? Would we have to buy an apartment off campus?? I don’t want to live off campus… UGHhhh I hate waiting so much )=

-notsogood
are there any benefits to sending in your SIR to ucr early. cause i’m also waiting on my appeal to irvine and if not then i’m going to ucr as well. get back to me asap please.

UCI or community college for me.

Idk i just got tired of waiting for Irvine and i don’t think they will be notifying us anytime soon.

My Appeal Was Granted!!! Just Found Out! Yayyy Uci! :)

Julia- what did you appeal with? How did it look like when you logged onto your application? (I appealed to Cal, I’m just wondering)

Congrats!
