Does anyone know how the job outlook will be for business admin graduates at UCI, considering its a new major and all? UCI has had business econ for a while. Does anyone know how the job outlook for business econ majors at uci are?

Still uncertain cause they haven’t graduated a class yet.

I would choose UCLA if you worried about foundation. But also consider bizadmin vs. econ (look at curriculum).

If I get into Business Admin at UCI (and go there)…I would write on my resume how hard it was to get into the program (The whole 15 student thing + Super high GPA, etc.)…even though UCI’s business admin program may not be all it’s cracked up to be in reality, on paper it is freakin’ amazing, and you best be sure I’m going to capitalize on the opportunity to make something sound better than it really is based on the factual numbers if it helps me get a job. So I think we would have a great job outlook if we went to UCI Business Admin. I personally want to go to grad school, so going to UCI Business Admin makes even more sense. I have a pretty high GPA here at UCI already, so I don’t think it is going to fluctuate as much once I get into the Business Admin major…if I graduate UCI Business Admin with anything near what I have now (3.933, Business Econ), then I think I’m in a good position for the future. You would get to say something like “I was among the first to have graduated with honors from the most selective program at a respectable UC.”

Obviously keeping such a high GPA at say, Haas or UCLA Business Econ isn’t as easy.

So in the end you must ask yourself (If you want to go to grad school)…what is better: a high GPA from highly selective UCI Bus. Admin or an average gpa from highly selective Haas or an average GPA from highly selective UCLA Business Econ

Obviously I am not saying your GPA is SURE to drop if you go to these other schools, but I think we can all agree it will be harder to attain/maintain a high GPA at those places.

I personally think grad schools will like a high GPA from a highly selective program…(I am not considering the GMAT here because what you get on the GMAT is not so much related to which school you choose to go to if you get into all three as in this hypothetical situation)
