Hi, so I was recently accepted to both Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business and UCLA for Pre-Business Economcs as a transfer student. I’m trying to decide between the two and which would be the better fit for my desired career path. As a business major, I want to pursue a career in either finance or accounting (can’t go wrong with either) and later go for my MBA. While both are good options, one is more accounting and economics based while the other gives me the freedom to specialize in something. Both are relatively the same price for out of pocket expenses (>10k a year). UCLA has more presteige, but the major isn’t guaranteed and I could possibly end up out of luck and have to pick another major if I don’t meet the requirements. I live in Northern California so moving 6 hours away to possibly end up majoring in something different is a not so ideal risk.
If anyone who’s attended either could give me any information regarding the school’s programs that would be amazing. I was also accepted to USC’s Marshall school of business, but It would be about 40K for two years there. I wouldn’t want to put myself in higher than needed debt for undergrad.
Thanks in advance!
