I got accepted to both schools, but now I’m not sure which one to choose. For Davis, my major is managerial economics and for Irvine, my major is undeclared. My ultimate goal is to graduate with a business major, with an emphasis in finance and/or accounting. Any comments/thoughts on this are appreciated! Thanks!!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!! MAY 1ST IS FAST APPROACHING!!!
Both seem academically equivalent, so is the Irvine school of business competitive? If so it might be difficult for you to get into their program. Were in UC Davis it looks like you all ready have a spot in pre- economics
Yes the Paul Merage Business School is extremely competitive to enter, although the business economics major [requires](http://www.changeofmajor.uci.edu/CoM_SocSci.html) just a 2.0 overall and no Ds or Fs in a couple required courses to enter. Not a competitive major by any stretch.
I don’t know how difficult it is for non business majors to minor in accounting.
I’d go with Managerial Economics at Davis. Excellent major, excellent university, and it’s a sure thing.
Would it be more beneficial to graduate with a business admin major? I’m not too fond of learning economics all 4 years, so I was thinking maybe if I could get into Irvine’s business major, I’d have more options. Where would I have more job/internship opportunities?
The general business administration is often considered useless - managerial economics is a much better major. Or if you can’t do that, then a specialized business administration degree (finance, real estate, etc) with a math minor.
I decided to commit to Davis because overall, it is a better school than Irvine.
Congratulations!
Both have the same ranking-internationally.
