Hi, i know this is pretty late already but I've still been working my way to decide which school (UCI vs UCLA) to pick for Bus. Econ major.
I'm currently living in Irvine so with UCI, i don't have to worry so much about housing and living expenses. They also offer me more with the financial aid package compared to LA.
UCLA is an unknown to me, i've rarely been up to that area and never been to the campus. Also, I will have to be dealing with living expenses a lot. Also, for transfer student, does anyone know is it better to live on or off campus if you know very little about the area?
I know that UCLA business econ major is an impacted major there. That's why it's very surprising to me when I got accepted ( with 3.6 overall GPA), but for some reason, to me, when I'm trying to complete the major prereq for both schools, UCI seems to ask for higher level class, such as Multivariable Cal, Linear Algebra ..., which is more challenging to me.
I mean, the bachelor degree for UCLA will be more helpful for me later on but how much a difference does that make ? is it worth it for all the expenses it's gonna cost me?
I'm really in need for advice. SO any thought counts.
Thanks in advance

UCLA without doubt.
I myself got a better financial offer by UCI.

For a business/econ major go to UCLA all the way. The cost will be worth it at the end. They have better networking/prestige which will make finding a job a lot easier.

I’m a business economics major at uci and I think the job prospectives are the same whether you go to la or irvine.
