I got accepted into UCI, but not Business major* The website said they are not accepting anybody of Business nor Nursing because these majors are exceeding their "capacity", in other words, they have admitted too many freshman.

Did you guys got into the situation as I am?

I think I have a fairy good stat:
ECs. 3.9 GPA (1 B in a ESL courses)
Essay, (I am proud for what I have wrote)

Look at economics/quantitative economics. There is some crossover in material covered. Look at it as a blessing, you dont need to study business to work in business. Everything they teach in in business administration can be learnt on the job. Economics will give you a wider breadth of knowledge. Gain internships in the field you wish to pursue, work experience trumps your college major of choice

Isn’t there a chance to switch majors before it’s too late? If not, Business Economics or Economics is pretty impressive too, but I understand if you wanted Business. If I may offer one piece of advice though, I was accepted years ago to UCI’s CSE program when I had actually wanted CS, and I was such a stubborn little beyotch that I turned a Regents Scholarship down because of it. Don’t make the same mistake I made.

Accounting courses are a reccomended part of an economics majors curriculum. I took the basic managerial/financial accounting sequence, you can take it farther if you want.

UCI has an Accounting Minor and a Management Minor.

OP: If you got into the Business Econ Major, your 3.9 GPA should also get you into UCI’s Management Minor from which you can take more “Businessy” classes. Hope that helps. And yes, for Business, work experience matters more in the long run.
