UCI CHP

Hi! I’m currently a sophomore in high school with a 4.2 UC GPA. I am taking 1 AP right now (ap world history) and it is my first AP. Next year I am planning on doing 3 APs (environmental science, psychology, and apush) as well as 3 honors courses (english, french, and math). Unfortunately the math class is not a UC-Approved honors course, so it will not count towards my gpa in terms of a boost. If I can get at least 90’s next year, I should have a 4.36 UC capped gpa by the time I apply to college. I also have quite a bit of ec’s. I hold leadership positions in almost every single one of them and I am currently fulfilling a 3-year internship at a well-established non-profit in my area. I’ve played 1 varsity sport, 1 jv, and I’m also involved in theater/plays at my high school. I am also president of a non-profit club that I am hoping to reach a more global scale in terms of incorporating the majority of my city’s high schools in it. My PSAT scores were not too good (1100ish I believe), but because I’m only taking 1 AP this year I am going to be dedicating about 2-3 hours of SAT prep a day, since standardized testing is not really my thing. I would like to be able to reach the 1400s (maybe even 1500?) by the time I apply to UCI. I think I would want to major either in psychology or public health, with CHP of course. I am also hoping to be pre-med, and I will be doubling up on AP sciences senior year to help prepare me for that. So, what are my chances of getting into the CHP? Also, would you guys say that it is generally worth it to take the more challenging courses that CHP offers instead of the regular classes? The college-prep high school I’m at right now is BRUTAL, so I believe I could handle the honors version unless it would affect my GPA negatively. Thoughts?? (:
