Hi everyone, I'm having a really hard time deciding between UCSD (Revelle-Econ) and UCI (School of Social Sciences- Business Econ). How quantitative is the Business Econ program at UCI and how competitive are the classes? I'm also thinking about minoring in Political Science. Any comments/suggestions are welcome :)

Math isn’t that bad. You have 2 quarters of calculus and 1 quarter of a pseudo-linear algebra/multivariable calculus class. After that you start your stats series and end it with your econometrics series.

Math in your econ classes don’t involve complex math. Just basic calculus. Most of the stuff you will be doing will be algebra.

If you are looking for more quantitative stuff I would consider majoring in quantitative economics. They have a separate series of intermediate econ and econometrics that involves more math.

The competition is not that bad. This is coming from a double major in bio tho haha. I find the econ classes really simple to earn an A. As long as you know your stuff, you should be in good shape.
