what is this? i TAGed Irvine - i took a computer class just for them instead of taking ochem II (something i wanted to take) and get rejected? i’m going to call admissions on Monday and ask them why.
i’m pretty upset about this because i took a class just to meet their TAG requirements, and don’t even get offered admission. it’s TAG! i was never intending to go to Irvine but if people actually depended on their TAG to Irvine and then ended up getting rejected that means the system is messed up and i’m not going to sit around and do nothing.
I tagged too and I got rejected. Funny thing is that I applied to UCB, UCSD, UCLA, UCSB, and UCI. Got accepted to all except UCLA and UCI but I still managed to get in the waitlist for UCLA. Pretty confused at what happened to my admissions. I did get something saying that I should appeal but I’m pretty sure everyone got that too. Also, my cc gpa was a 4.0 and I did all the major requirement courses for my major.
@nanavn i don’t know about CS because I’m not a CS Major. I’m a chemical engineering major.
In any case, they should have made TAG not an option like UCSB. UCSB makes it clear that you can’t TAG if you are an engineering major. UCI cannot claim to give out spots if you meet certain reqs and then not give them. It’s ridiculous and just a dick move on their part. UCI is known for screwing people over though so I guess we should have expected this.
To any prospective transfer that happened to stumble upon my comment… Don’t give up.
I dropped out of highschool as a sophomore, took my GED, and dropped out constantly in school. I have 5+ Ws, failed a class(retook it for a B ), dropped out at one point, and stuck with it. I got accepted to all of the UCs I applied to so far: UCI, UCLA, UCSD. I am sure I got accepted to USC(they’re asking for my grades and requesting transcripts). If it helps I am an English major with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and UC transferable GPA of 3.85.
UCI needs to hurry up with their Financial Aid Award… I want to make a decision soon & I want to stop stressing out about this. Most schools sent out their Financial Aid WITH their acceptance decision like UCB, UCSD, etc and others took maybe a week or 2. CSULB and ALL other Cal State Schools need a decision BY May 1st and it’s not fair to not have all our options available.
Hey guys! Quick question… does anyone know if Calculus II (Math 2B) is required at UCI in order to graduate? I’ve heard conflicting things, and don’t know if I should take it when I am still at CC while I can. I got admitted as a Health Sciences major, with just Calculus I + Intro to Stats. TIA!!
