Hi I just got the notification 20 minutes ago for my major! I am TAG and just got accepted this morning for those of you who are anxious I think they are rolling more decisions now
Transfer admit day is May 3… I’ve already registered for it
just to clarify, uci DOES send out an email telling you to check your portal right??
I checked my portal consecutively yesterday around 2-3pm barely saw an update at 3 and received an email to check my portal around 5pm

GPA ~ 3.75
finishing last physics this semeter
essays were ok
most likely going to CalPoly slo instead for software engineering (or LA or Berk).
Chem major with tag here, still havent heard back.

Just wondering if anyone (maybe chem or physics) is in the same boat and have not heard back yet? I did not see any chem or physic majors getting accepted on this thread yet.
Also, I never mentioned that I took two years of spanish during highschool anywhere on my uc application. And I skipped calc 1 in my first year of ccc, going straight into calc 2 bc my counselor approved of my ap scores, however, I forgot to mention that in my uc application as well. Could these two factors affect my admissions to any school?

@JustTakeMe Yes, I am a CS major at UCR. Honestly, their program isn’t bad. However, sometimes it is hard to get your classes just because there are a lot of people taking CS now. There are definitely students here that get into internships at high-end companies. The Career Center isn’t that helpful though, you are on your own most of the time for internships in my opinion. Also, the Career Fairs here are usually just informational. The companies mostly just tell you to apply online instead of conducting interviews onsite, and they are mostly local companies.
I do like UCR, but I want to see what my potential options are for transferring, and see if going to a different school will actually leverage my ability to obtain more opportunities for internships.
IMO, I think you will do well if you are CS at mostly any UC school. Having a good GPA is great, but I learned that having side projects and knowing your data structures and algorithms will serve you well at any interview.

Thumbs up and agree! Accepted to UCI but my dad attended UCB and really wants me to go to UCLA / UCB. UCB pending today. UCLA 4/24.

Finishing ENG103 and MATH 100 Spring Semester 2019
Had big gaps in my education( I’m 32, went to college and took a 10 year gap due to health issues and work). Switched majors in the process from Psychology to Philosophy. Hadn’t taken SATs since highschool (2005).
I honestly am surprised, maybe it’s because of my major choice but I’m honored to have been accepted. Congrats to all of you!

Celebrate UCI tomorrow is for freshman. You guys can go tomorrow but I’m not sure if they will have information for transfers. They do their days separate! Also note last year they called it celebrate UCI for transfers, this time they just called it transfer admit day. Register guys!
@misseskite congrats!!! I also have gaps in education (I’m 25) due to heath issues as well. Happy to see us nontrads getting into these great schools! Did u apply to Berkeley and UCLA as well?

@stanley64 Hi, I know 2 chem majors that got into UCI from my school but I am not sure whether they tagged or if they got in for chem itself. Their GPA’s isn’t that fantastic btw.
