Im still pending
I’m an out of state student but a California resident so maybe that’s why I haven’t heard back or might get rejected.
I applied to UCI, UCSB, UCLA, and UCSD. So far I’ve only heard from UCSB and got accepted March 15th
For UCI, I applied as a human biology major (I think if not just biology) with a 3.7 GPA. All my pre reqs are done and I’ve completed Ochem 1 and 2. The only thing I have not completed is physics.
I just wish they would give me an answer already ugh!
It sounds like those of us still pending are either low GPA or high GPA with a missing prereq, coming from another UC or an out of state school… All are reasons to be rejected.
I’m a CC tag applicant with a 3.8 GPA and I haven’t heard back yet. I’ve met all the tag requirement so I’m confused as to why I haven’t heard back yet.
I know multiple people who got into UCLA and UCSD missing two major prereqs and mediocre gpas. Stay optimistic people
@jbravomed So does it mean that they are missing Calculus 2 and the second English for example for Econ major? Checking last few years threads, I found some people who got accepted into UCSD missing Calculus 2.
@kristinpete I kind of agree with you since I have a 3.71 from Pepperdine. Considering Pepperdine is better than UCI, there is no reason for them to reject me. I am missing the second UC English so I guess that’s affecting me.
@kristinpete didn’t you just say that you called some schools and none of them seemed to care about pre reqs?
Speaking for Biology Majoring Applicants; last year three of my friends were accepted into both ucsd and ucla missing chem 1 & 2 and also missing the second portion of physics. @sagaciousforever
ochem****
@jbravomed Thanks for letting me know. I am not sure if I stand a chance if I am missing the second English for UCLA’s Business Economics and UCSD’s International Business.
Also, for Calculus, I took Business Calculus (including materials from both Cal 1 and Cal 2), so I am not sure if that will significantly affect my admission.
I got rejected by UCB Haas already despite my strong essays and resume.
@sagaciousforever not a problem, hope we get the answers we have all been anxiously waiting for very soon.
@Gg1503 Yeah, I called and said that my school might not offer the third part of the physics series. They honestly did not seem phased in the least. In fact, two of them even cut me off - they just said “it’s not a requirement for admission”. However, people here are talking about missing English and Math (both IGETC admissions requirements), not Physics.
And I’m sure that the particular major matters. I’m a biology major. All of my conditional requirements (for schools I’ve been admitted to) stated only that I must complete Biology with a grade higher than a C. They said nothing about Physics. If I were an engineering major on the other hand they would care a lot more…
Has anyone received their financial aid package yet? I got in on the 18th.
@TatianaF I thought we get the aid in mid-May? I haven’t received anything yet
They bumped it up to Early May if you check MyAid
@sagaciousforever as I asked UCI to drop one of my class which requires to fulfill IGETC certificate, they said they did not require IGETC. as long as you finish all the pre-reqs and 7 breadth requirement for Business (2 English, 1 xxx (dont remember now, 4 from at least 2 area of Human / Science / Behavior), and have 60 transferable courses, then we are fine.
Later I found that statement on their website too. Now just share what I remember, you can double-check from UCI website, requirement for Paul Merage Business School.]
@Bibihcmvn the problem is he doesn’t have a second English class
I have never heard of someone transferring to UC without full filling the 2 English courses that they require.
@kristinpete I’ve applied for business admin and others have gotten accepted with 3.38’s. I have high gpa and completed all pre-reqs. I also notified them that I received A in calc 2 and they responded saying “thanks for the update”, so it’s guaranteed that they received the information.
I think i’m competitive and I think my essays are good. I took 30 units last semester and got good grades and this semester i’m taking 29 units and am expected to receive A’s in all 10 classes this semester.
In other words, what the heck UCI? lol
@jbravomed : Does it mean your friend dropped that class or they are taking it in Spring term? I know a lot of people got accepted while they still have 1 Calcus and 1 Wring class in Spring term.
@sagaciousforever As long as you finished writing 2 class in spring term, you will be fine. If you drop that class, I afraid it will affect your admission.
