I applied to UCI and plan to change my major from biology/education to biomedical engineering. Do you think it will be possible? Or even possible to change to a different type of engineering or physical science? Also is double majoring and minoring possible in other departments to get a foreign language or something?
@ebeohp I just changed my major from undeclared to biological sciences (wonder why they didn’t had human bio or neurobio, but i think they fall under the same category of biosci). If you have just been admitted, and you decide to change your major through your portal, biomed engin is not accepting major change requests. Actually, ALL engineering majors aren’t accepting requests, so you’re out of luck there. However, physical science is still open on the list of majors that are accepting change of major requests, so I think it’s possible.
I literally submitted my request to biosci and it automatically put me into that major and school without having to wait the time period. I think if you do it now it’s easier. However if you really want to go into a diff engineering, probably stick with the things you have right now, and once you’re at UCI you can submit a real change to any major.
I’m not sure what you mean by double/minoring to get a foreign language, but yes double major/minor is always possible (not sure about foreign lang). I think you can choose another major that falls under the same category as your original major, for example, chemistry (major), and biosci (minor).
