The reputation of Sociology in both schools seems to be on the exact same level, while being not as prominent and renowned as Sociology in Cal and UCLA. At this point, I'm getting $5,500 more of financial aid at UCI.

Should I just simply choose UCI over UCSD?

If you are getting more financial aid from UCI, I would choose UCI.

Same ****, go where the $$ is!

Is there any good reason of choosing UCSD over UCI in this situation? I can’t find any. Can someone find one for me? Because I’ve already submitted SIR to UCSD and I’m having a hard time to shift my dedication toward UCSD to UCI, I wanna stay leaning toward UCSD. But the $$$ from UCI is pulling me off. Help me.

okay, well, have you visited both campuses? if not, you should visit them. it might change your mind or give you a/more reasons for attending ucsd.

also, what is your primary reason for wanting to go to ucsd?

@amsstory first of all it’s because UCSD is generally considered to be more prestigeous than UCI regardless of major and Sociology program at UCSD is diversified into several different in-depth studies, offering various degrees of specialized field related to Sociology such as Sociology BA - Law and Business, whereas UCI only offers one general Sociology degree. Also by deciding to attend UCSD, I can finally move out and escape from my parent’s grasp for the first time in my life. Am I reasonable enough to give up $5,500 and UCI for UCSD?

By the way I’ve visited both campuses. They were alright, looked similar, and had nothing so conspicously awesome, basically not that I’m concerned of.
