UCI transfer igetc language requirement

Hi, i am looking to transfer to UCI. i was looking through their general education requirement classes and it said that taking a language other than english was a requirement. I am worried because i took only 2 years of a language in high school, but on the website it says "Credit for three years of high school study or its equivalent in a single language other than English with a C average or better in the third year." I remember in high school (graudated like 2-3 years ago) it said that 2 was required and 3 was recommended. I checked the IGETC requirements, and it said "Complete two years of a single high school language with a grade of C or better (high school transcripts must be on file)." which one is correct? I really dont want to take a WHOLE year of a language.

thanks in advance

If you transfer to UCI with a complete IGETC, UCI will consider that you fulfilled the language requirement. If you transfer to UCI without completing IGETC, you will have to do it the UCI way.

Take a copy of your high school transcripts to your community college. They will verify the two years of language in high school and mark your IGETC as complete (assuming you completed everything else.) you won’t need to take any language.
