I have only written what I was able to write in for my UC apps. I find myself lacking in a lot of places especially because my race is Korean. I am fairly sure that I will not get into UCLA, but my mother was a cancer researcher for them for 2 years (only hope in getting in LOL). I fell through some personal difficult times during sophomore year that honestly I feel like everyone goes through, but I was so scared and depressed that I shut myself from friends and trying in school. I literally thought I was a monster. My GPA was destroyed when I got a 3.4 average that year; however, I recovered during junior, achieving a 4.4 average GPA (straight A's during second semester) while taking 4 APs. I am aware that I am seriously lacking compared to my competition. If would you please give me your sincere thought about my chances of getting into these colleges above, I would be grateful. Thank you.

Reach Schools: USC, UCLA (too hard…12% for engineering school), UIUC (only bc your doing engineering)
Safety: UCSB
Match: UCD and maybe UCI
UCSD, UT I think will be hard still…im in state as well and UCSD has gotten harder. they really only look at your transcipts…if you were out of state that’s easier. im in state doing Uc’s as well and i know it’s going to be hard since they want the money from OOS. you might have a chance at UT austin.

Thanks so much! Currently, I got into UIUC and UT! Still waiting on others!

USC/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Low Reach
UCSB/UCD/UCI: High Match

I think you are right when you say UCLA and USC are reaches. But Texas…pretty good!!! I also think you can get into Illinois. You’ve got a great resume, and state schools are pretty lenient about GPA so you should be set!
