Uci ucsd ucd which one!!!!

Major: International Studies

WHICH ONE DO I CHOOSE? I've been accepted to UCD, Waitlisted to UCSD and I haven't gotten resposne back from UCI. Considering I'm accepted to all of them though, what are the ENTIRE pros and cons of each schools (prestige, food, social, environment, atmosphere, things to do, etc.) help me decide :((( i love the weather and environment of UCI but the prestige of UCSD sort of pulls me there. I heard their program for international studies there... anyways for me

UCSD
PROS: Not a party school, Beautiful city, good libraries, prestige, International Studies program?, weather, academically demanding
CONS: boring?, large campus, expensive to live

UCI
PROS: Weather, city, food, campus, proximity to many places (Disneyland, Down town LA, Beach)
CONS: expensive to live, need a car to go anywhere, not as highly ranked

UCD
PROS: Impacted major may imply good program (not sure though), prestige, easy to come home
CONS: Weather extremes, inland, small college town where there's not much to do, IR major is impacted, too familiar

What are everyone else's opinion on the three universities? How nice are the people in each university, Can you give me a convincing argument to choose one over the other? I appreciate all of your input, hopefully this helps others as well

I know that UCD has an impacted major for International Relations, and I heard SOMEWHERE that UCSD has a good International Studies program but I’m not sure which is the ‘best’ like you said there’s not TOO much difference between UC to UC and even though UCD is impacted it might not imply that it’s actually a great program. I’m not even sure how the schools compare as far as faculty and internships go. I’d assume the internships in Davis would be good because of it’s closeness to Sacramento, but UCSD also has a large International community… What would you say?

Thanks, that’s good advice. I’ll try and do that.

well, i am a ranking gremlin. and i think UCSD has the highest rank, so i would chose that. all the UC schools are superb. so the ranking just helps later on with job applications. San Diego has a fantastic climate and there are lots of companies in the area with jobs (compared to davis). Davis is an amazing school, but seriously it is ranked lower than UCSD (isn’t it?) and located in an abysmal place where there are No jobs. meaning less opportunities. check the U.S. News and World report and pick the highest ranking school. that’s my opinion. not that it is worth much. haha. rock on.

The plus about UCD is that althogh there might not be many opportunities in the city itself, as a International Relations major, I might benefit from being so close to Sacramento. But in reality I’m not sure about how many internships there will be with the state government. haha. Maybe I can apply online for something. Ranking is definitely a major pull for me towards SD though.

I agree with whoau49, you should really visit each campus and observe the surrounding area and student body. Only you know what you really like and want.

UCSD >UCI > UCD

Make a checklist, start off with what the campuses share in familar (what is important to you). Then you will start seeing what the true differences are between the schools.

Visiting is obviously great.

Choose SD.

Ocean.

Seriously bro.
