UCI vs SDSU vs UCD vs CC

Hello everyone, I know that I am particularly late in my college decisions but here’s my question

I intend on going to Medical School and studying to become a physician, I am not sure what school to pick,

UCI - I got into there Campus wide Honors program with Public Health as my major, Irvine is a great school however I just don’t like the feel and vibe of it, I am a very social person and I really love school spirit and attending sports games and all. UCI doesn’t really have much of that, and I also hear that parking is horrible and the area gets kind of boring, however it is an amazing school in terms of education. ( I also got $3,000 from them)

SDSU - I really like the entire vibe of SDSU, I also got into there Webers Honors College, I like the varsity sports and all around opportunities SDSU has, I would also major here in Public Health. However there education isn’t as good as UCI’s (from what I hear) and it is a CSU vs a UC and I also hear the name UC is just better in itself than a CSU (I don’t know if that is true but it is what I hear).

UCD - Regular admission, but I got into there Philosophy major (with emphasis on pre-med) and I hear that 50% of all there philosophy students go to med school which is also a plus. I actually haven’t visited Davis but I hear it is kind of in the middle of nowhere and it is really far from me. I also hear their campus is pretty socially active and overall really nice looking with a nice vibe too it.

CC - I would attend Palomar, and through there promise program would go for free, in addition I could apply for there STEM scholarship and receive $2,000. If I went to Palomar however I would lose the ‘college experience’ which I hear is really important in becoming independent and making connections. Again though, the money being saved would help me and my family a lot in the long run ( as we are in a little bit of a financial situation). Also, after community I would want to transfer into UCLA or USC.

I am really having trouble deciding what to do, and I have to decide within 24 hours, I am extremely conflicted

Sounds like SDSU is where you ought to go but you should set aside the whole UC>CSU mentality… You are out of time but, i’d visit Davis before ruling it out. It is far from the middle of nowhere… so you don’t have a good feel for that you are rejecting.

Good luck
