I really need help deciding which UC i should attend. I am pursuing a career in medicine and would like to know which school I should go to in order to help me gain admission to medical school. I do well in science and math, have completed all the science classes at my school, including APs, and got all As, with relative ease. Im torned about UCLA, UCSD, and UCD, all great medical schools. Im very low income, my dad is retired, only my mom works. So I visited all the schools, and did some research:
UCLA is too competitive. People consider me one of the smart kids at school, but I doubt I can do well at UCLA, since my school isnt very competitive. UCLA is also not offering me much money to go there. I qualify for their Honors program, but dont think I can handle it. But i really like the campus, the food, and the city.
UCD is less competitive. I will have a higher chance of getting internships and doing research(which is essential to get into medical school). They are covering more than half the costs if i was to attend that school. It is closer to where I live, but I hate how its so boring there.
UCSD is competitive enough, but still manageable. They are offering me a lot of money also. I really like the activities/programs they offer to their students and the beach. The whole area in general. But its 8 hours away from where I live T.T. But I really dont like their 6 college system, I have to take unnecessary classes that dont have anything to do with my major >.<
So strategically, where should I go to enhance my chances of getting into medical school. When I apply to medical school, is a higher GPA at a less competitive school worth more than a low GPA at a more competitive school?

UC Davis is the obvious choice. The #1 criteria for med schools is GPA, and going to the least competitive UC (on your list) gives you the best chance to maximize gpa.

Hey I don't know much about Pre-Med but if it's all about GPA the UC do take that into consideration, but I really don't know. I had a final UC GPA of 3.97 and I got accepted to all three of them.I applied as a Pre-Math major and decided to go to UCSD because it was more beneficial for me money wise, eventhough I live in LA and I got into UCLA. The main reason why I decided to go to UCSD is because of the college system. You get more attention fromt the teachers and the college advisors. Either way at UCSD your major or college choice does not affect your admissions in general. Try to have a lot of extracurricular activities. Take it from me I took 13 music classes in High School and one of them was AP and look at me now I'm a Pre-Math major.

no i want to get into graduate(medical) school. Im already accepted into those schools for biochem(premed). I wanna choose a undergrad school that can help me get into graduate school

Go to UCLA and work very hard. In the long run it will definitely pay off.

how will it pay off? If i can go to Davis and get into UCSF or Stanford for med school, isnt that better?

bummmmmmp anyone else?
