UCI vs. UCSD Help!

So I’m deciding between UCI and UCSD. I received the same amount of financial aid for both. I am very very very sure that I want to go to law school after undergraduate, so this is my main concern: Which school will help me get into the best law school I possibly can? Here’s my situation -

UCSD
Hoping to double major in Political Science & Economics. But as of now I’m a poli sci major. I would prefer business school, but since UCSD doesn’t have one I figure a double major would be challenging and hopefully make me well rounded. (Plus poli sci & econ are really interesting to me) I know UCSD has a better reputation for academics than UCI, but does this only pertain to science? I’ve also heard that UCSD has a top 10 ranked economics program. But I looked online and read that it’s graduate program was highly ranked, and read nothing about its undergraduate program. For poli sci, I hear that UCSD is ranked really high for undergraduate? Could someone confirm is this is true .

UCI
I got into the honors program here. Also got into Business Administration, which is my preferred major. Problem is that I visited UCI and talked to one of the people in charge of the new Paul Merage school of undergrad business and really wasn’t impressed. This undergrad prog. is supposed to have only 125 students out of like 4000 applications and be really selective, but the impression I got after visiting was that the undergrad business school had nothing special going for it other than its selectivity. It started in '08 and I hear that many people try to transfer and can't get in due to such limited spacing. But I'm just not sure if I want to commit to such a new school I don't know much about.

Ultimately I want to know if when I apply to law school they will look at UCSD as a more prestigious school than UCI. I will be happy at either school so the ultimate deciding factor is simply which school is going to help me get into a better law school in the future. Thanks if anyone can help (:

two “words”

LSAT, GPA those two are what really matter when it comes to law school admissions. The small gap between Irv and SD in prestige will not in anyway hinder you if you go to either school.

p.s. I’m not looking at law school but I am in a similar situation where I am deciding between

Irvine BA and San Diego Mgmt Science.

The “newish” quality of the irvine program is a downer and the fact that they still haven’t offered many of the merage courses they have listed in their catalog is a bust.

Hint, double major only if you think it won’t keep you from keeping a GPA north of 3.75. I’m not saying don’t try it but I would give a one major load a try before loading up on a second. If not your GPA might suffer big time and really make the climb back to a high GPA a hardship.

thx monkeyboy

and yeah, about irvine’s business undergrad being new, that’s still what is holding me back from making a decision

does anybody know about UCI’s Campuswide Honors Prog? Does this really offer anything besides priority classes and special housing?

UCI or UCSD really don’t matter if you want into the graduate school eventually.
what is important?

Major Major and one more time major

GPA GPA and again your GPA

People without effort dead quicker in UCSD

UCSD for sure.
