UCLA 2019 TRANSFER TFT

Hey guys! I know there’s already a discussion for UCLA transfers in general, but I thought it would be a good idea to make a discussion for transfers trying to get into either the Film and Television or Theater majors!

Hey there! I applied to transfer into their Film and Television program. I was wondering if anyone got an e-mail for an interview or if they don’t even interview Transfer applicants? Sadly, I know how low the acceptance rate is so I don’t have my mind set on going, but it still is my dream school!

Hey! Yeah I got an email for an interview, but they have accepted people without an interview in the past, so don’t give up hope just yet!

And people with interviews don’t always get in as they still need the final pass-through of required UC rules via admissions.

Does anyone have a pretty close guess to when the decision will come out or if they will notify us a couple days prior?

Tomorrow

hello! a friend of mine who went to my same CCC found out he got into ucla last year on april 25th. I’ve heard the 25th or the 26th is typically the day they let students know via the student portal.

I’m nervous though because I’ve heard they normally reach out to students about interviews. I haven’t heard anything yet. I spoke to my department head at my CCC today and she said that they normally do interview candidates around march or early april, however I know that not all students they take are interviewed and they usually only do it if your application was unclear or vague.

@jbell7 To be honest, I’ve heard from multiple different people that most of the applicants they take are from people who got interviewed. It’s almost like a milestone in your application, from what I’ve heard. They do sometimes accept people who were not interviewed, but from what I understand, this is kind of a rare occurrence. That being said, it does happen. If information on your application was unclear or vague, they normally contact you via email to clarify something about your application in a text box.
