We received the good news this morning that my D was accepted off the waitlist!!! We checked the portal first and then the email came in shortly after.
She was accepted to L&S as an English major. She submitted the optional essay plus sent a letter to the admissions office expressing her continued interest.
Top 10 in her class for 3 years, 6 AP classes this year, lots of extra curricular and service oriented activities (a few with leadership positions).
We’ve been so anxious since she was first put on the waitlist, so this is such a relief, since UCLA is her dream school.
Forgot to mention, we are in state.

any engineering majors accepted today?
ok, it’s over. I’ve definitely lost hope now.
I was really hoping to wake up to an email by UCLA today…
do you guys think they’ll send out more? or should I give up
My son is waiting like all of you…staying hopeful they will be sending out more acceptance!
any chance more will come out tomorrow? I’m so sad at this point.
I wouldn’t give up just yet, there’s still time. They’re probably sending out the notifications in waves so I wouldn’t be surprised if more end up coming out.
I wish you all the best of luck!
Okay wait am I missing out on something? Why is everyone losing hope. Didn’t decisions come until like June 30th last year? And that’s what they have said this year too. Only a couple people have heard so far. So please don’t lose hope. I am in the same boat as all of you guys and trust me I am nervous too! Have some faith. We got this.
Hey guys, just out of curiosity, what college are you currently committed too? I’m committed to Cal but UCLA is my dream school so I’m rlly hoping to get off the waitlist.
@sonybluetooth Same, I also committed to Berkeley. My sister is up there and I’ve visited the campus a couple of times but I’m not a big fan of the area. Ultimately, my heart is at UCLA. I really wanna get off this waitlist and wish you the best of luck.
@sonybluetooth Committed to Cal as well.
I committed to UCSB, but I genuinely want to go to UCLA for the specialized music program and music cognition studies, which UCSB doesn’t have. I sent in a letter of continued interest and have worked extremely hard all of the high school specifically for UCLA, but I don’t know if I should give up yet or not. I’m thinking to either go to UCSB and settle or try to go to community, take all my GE’s in one year, and try to transfer to UCLA. Just praying that I get an email.
Committed to UCSC. It was a tough decision between Berkeley and UCSC but I ultimately chose UCSC.
Committed to UCSD. Both schools have really great math programs, but UCLA has everything else that I want in a school. Both schools are also the same distance from my house, so the real difference is where I feel I’m meant to be.
Let’s hope some more decisions come out tomorrow morning. Good luck to all of us waiting!
