Ucla admission revoked? Please help

Hello,
I just received acceptance to the Pre history major at ucla for fall 2011. Last week my mother went into emergency surgery and we found out she has ovarian cancer. She is undergoing chemo once every 3 weeks and I decided to withdraw from spring 2011 at ucsb to stay and care for her in this desperate time of need. I have contact with a social worker who can provide medical records from UCI medical center regarding my mothers treatment. Is there anyone I can speak to in person? I am definitely able to attend ucla in the fall and I do not want to get my admissions revoked in the case of my new hardship. Please let me know what I can do? I am willing to take any substitute classes this summer with ucsb, a community college or ucla. Is there anything I can do?

Do you think they will revoke me? How do they look at emergency situations like this??

yes, they will revoke you and tell you to apply next year and to use this as part of your explanation in your personal statement. sorry, i really do feel bad for you, but life is full of bumps and this one is a small one compared to what you’ll experience later in life. i wish the best for your mother.

I think they will revoke you automatically BUT if you call/write them now and explain your situation and tell them about summer classes you might still have a shot.

if you just drop and wait for the revoke to appeal you might not get that shot.

good luck, i hope you still keep your acceptance!!
