I got off of the UCLA waitlist this morning (as an incoming Freshman) & back in March, I had applied to the Alumni Scholarship. I’m not sure if other applicants have already been notified if they’ve been awarded, but I wanted to know if I still have a chance of receiving it?
Same here - my daughter is in the same situation - did you get an answer on your question? let me know please and thank you.
@Gumbymom - do you know how Alumni Scholarship works for waitlisted kids - my daugther got off list may 2 but invited to submit assay in february. most students already been notified if they’ve been awarded, but how about waitlisted students?
If it’s the same as previous years then Alumni scholarship applicants were shortlisted in late March/early April, interviewed in the first week of April and then awards made before Bruin Day. There are some awards made later to runners up depending on how many of the original awardees don’t attend UCLA but I don’t believe there is any provision for interviewing additional candidates.
In any case the winners are typically in the top few percent of the entering class so it would not be expected for them to have been waitlisted in the first place. As a result it seems highly likely that waitlisted applicants are dropped from consideration just like rejected applicants.
