UCLA and Admission By Examination

Did anyone get into any UC by examination alone??? and where did u get into?

Is that even possible?

It is possible. It is in the admissions material. However, I have only hear of one person who attempted that (she was a homeschooler), but it don't work out as I understand for Berkeley (where she wanted to go), so she ended up at some other school.

I don't think UCB and UCLA can admit students by examination alone. I have heard of Eligibility by Examination for admissions consideration, but that is totally different from actually receiving admission. Maybe for UCSC, UCR and UCM, you might get in...

I had friends who weren't ELC and hadn't done the art req and got into LA and Berkeley--by examination alone. It can happen, even with those schools.

Can you tell me his/her stats and maybe give me their contact info

With Comprehensive Review in place, it is not possible to gain admissions by examination alone. I believe what you are referring to is "Eligiblity by Examination Alone" and, as you can tell, the title alone entails something quite different from automatic admission. To qualify for the mentioned eligibility program, it used to be that all you needed was a 31 on the ACT or 1400 on the SAT I. Nowadays, you must receive a 3450 on the Test Score Eligibility chart (SAT 1+ Writing+ 2 SAT IIs). Again, this is just to make yourself eligible for consideration to the University of California because you did not fulfill the standard set of requirements (not uncommon, considering homeschool, out-of-state schools, private schools, specialty schools).

I most likely got in this way, considering I didn't take any VPA courses and I'm OOS. My Test Score total was 3610.
