UCLA and UCB chances

3.75 UC GPA
2040 SAT1
790/640 SAT2s.

ECS: mostly piano stuff. some volunteer work at a museum, work at tutoring place. a lot of piano awards (from MTAC, local competitions w/ comm. college students competing as well that i placed in).

majors:
UCLA-is chemistry and materials science(in the letters and science department)
UCB-undeclared.

note: i got the UCB 'special talent' questionnaire. i'm assuming they want to know about my music..and i think i answered it really well..i spent a lot of time on it.

thanks. just wanted a small look at my chances.

infamy:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Slgiht Reach

thanks

anyone else?

It's around 30-40%.

UCLA--Probably not. UCLA is extremely difficult to get into even with a great GPA. I mean, their average is 4.0 or 4.2 or something like that.

UCLA and UCB is about the same. Depends on the program you are interested in. I would say match for both.

I'm no Cali expert, but I do know that the most recent average GPA for the admitted student in UCB and UCLA is > 4.1

GPA and SATs are considerably below average for these schools. Your stats work for mid level UCs: UCSB, UCI, UCD.

Murasaki: 4.17, actually.

Ah, then that means the average of the other is 4.25.

yep, i did get rejected by la, i kinda expected it. i always thought i had a better chance for UCB than UCLA though because of the huge amount of LA applicants. still crossing my fingers for cal though.
