Engineering Major

You look like a competitive applicant for both schools. Write some great essays and Good luck.

According to http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/freshman-admissions-summary , for 2015, admission rates for applicants with GPA in the 3.80-4.19 range were:

39% UCSD
14% UCLA

However, engineering majors are more competitive for admission at both schools, so overall school stats may be optimistic when estimating chances for engineering applicants.

So are those UC gpas or fully weighted?

The UC GPA’s posted in the link are the UC GPA capped weighted, not fully weighted. UCLA/UCB are the only 2 UC’s that use the Fully weighted UC GPA.

However, high school GPAs shown on general UC web sites including the one linked in #5 should be assumed to be weighted capped unless indicated otherwise.

Admissions readers at UCs will see unweighted, weighted capped, and weighted uncapped GPAs, as well as your list of courses and grades, when they read your application.
