We have received your application for Fall Quarter 2011 and are still in the process of reviewing it. There are still applicants for whom decisions have not yet been finalized. Please continue to check back.

I applied to BizEcon and alternate Philosophy
GPA: 3.82
TAP: yes
Igetc: yes
Prereqs: all done, and finished all offered at my CC

BTW:No financial aid, no doc track, housing is: Unsure of enrollment

Is there another batch coming out? Sorry I’m not much help but you’d be better off calling the admissions office tomorrow. I am not sure whether there are other people who haven’t received decisions as well…

Dude, I really am so sorry. I know that I’m not any help, but I realize that it’s gotta be freakin’ tough. Just try not to get any ulcers during this extra-long wait. Good luck. With those stats, you deserve to get in. I’ve seen people get rejected who probably deserved a spot more than I do, and I’m not a URM. Not sure what all goes into their decisions. Hang in there, and know that with all the hard work you put in to get those stats, you’ll end up in a good place regardless of what happens with UCLA. Good luck, bro.

Even if the “tricks” were legit (which they may or may not have been), I don’t think that they would apply for those who are still pending. I have a feeling that they have genuinely not made a decision on your app yet. The tricks (may have) worked because they already had made decisions on those people, and behind the scenes, the housing, financial aid, etc… was set up for admitted students. If they genuinely haven’t made the decision yet, then you wouldn’t be able to tell, obviously.

Think about it: they’ve already given a lot of people rejections, so they’re not hiding rejections. If you had been rejected, they would have told you, along with all of the other people. I definitely say that there’s still hope. And I highly doubt that they have finished reviewing your app. Here’s my guess: They accept the people who they definitely want. They reject the people they definitely don’t want. After that, they look at how many apps are left (the in-betweeners), and start working their way back through those apps. These “borderline” cases are probably the ones that take longest to evaluate, because I would imagine that there is some disagreement between the evaluators on which ones should be accepted. I think that you’re probably in that “borderline” group.

Of course, this is all my own pointless speculation, but isn’t that all that we offer on this website, anyways? :)

at this point I really could care less I just want to be in whether it’s BizEcon or Phil. If I get Phil I’m immediately switching to Math/Econ anyways…

Guys, last year there were a couple people who were pending and the tricks started working the night before they were released and there was a decision in the morning.
