I got this postcard today with the following message:
"This is an opportunity for admitted freshman and transfer applicants recommended for admission by their departments to visit UCLA Arts and learn more about their intended major. The presentations include an introduction and overview of the school, an informational workshop with your department, ,and lunch at the Broad Art Center. Tours of the general campus will also be available"
It also had a schedule
and it's on april 13, 2007..

HOLY CRAP, AM I ACCEPTED?
i never knew they sent this kind of stuff....

yes. you are! I'm so excited. i got a letter about the arts alumni arts scholarship...and i was like...uh does that mean i got in? I emailed the advisor person and she said that it is a very good sign. So i assumed the best. And today...i got this postcard! I know people from ucla who are music majors...they said it means that i got in! Ahhhh...i'm so excited. ucla is my number one choice!

oh i forgot to write: Congrats to you!!! and me!! haha.

if you call..they are going to say "we can't tell you. The only campus entity that is legally able to inform you of your admissions status is Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools." I would know because i contacted them about the scholarship thing. But yea...i'm positive. What is your major? I know for music and ethnomusicology...you meet your teachers (based on instrument...) The only reason you or i will get rejected is if we are not UC elligible. But if you've been accepted to another UC already...it's pretty clear that you are UC elligible. The parents at the Music forum...told me that the postcard comes before the official decision from the UARS. And they told me that if you got the postcard, you've been accepted. another thing...i don't think they'll send the postcard if you were not uc elligible. I'm sure they check that with the uars before sending out this. anyway...what is your top choice?

well, congratulations to you too notorious! do you think we'll get our acceptance packages soon? i just need something tangible to confirm that i got in..=)

Well...a parent in the music forum wrote that the open house invitation came one or two days before the online decisions were posted up. I didn't want to mention that because i don't want to mislead people who did not apply for a major within the school of arts and architecture. My friend called the ucla music dept about decisions (meaning acceptance or rejection to department) last week...and the lady said that they would be out the 21st but i'm assuming that she was referring to the invitation.

oh goodness. this is why i didn't want to write this. no. My friend is a flute auditionee...and she called to ask when the decisions for the MUSIC department will be coming out. It's kinda like the engineering letter i guess. And the lady who answered said...they are sending stuff out the 21st. She is referring to the school of arts and architecture...not the entire university. So i don't know if decisions are gonna be up tommorow? I just know that people who have been admitted to the school of arts and architecture got an open house invitation today.

lol Notorious, i'm confused, but what this lady said could apply to "decisions" as in admissions decisions, since invitations have already come out a couple days before she said ( 21st)...or I guess we're all hoping anyway....
thanks anyways notorious
