Hello everyone, I am currently at a CC in California, hoping to transfer to UCLA (or another UC for that matter). I have high hopes that I will get accepted in the coming years.

My issues are the level of math I require for my major. I am a biology major (no, not a premed) getting all the bio prereqs done at my CC. After I would like to get my MS (or Phd if I can handle it). I passed Calc 1 with an A, taking Calc 2 in the Fall. This is all that UCLA requires for my major (will it change? should I go to calc 3?)

UCLA is 2 semesters of calc
UCI is 1 semester of calc and stats (or anything higher)
UCSD is 3 semesters of calc (math to calc 3 - several variable)

I was wondering if I should just go to Calc 3 anyways because the system may change due to the competition. Doing so would indeed screw up my schedule for the rest of my time at my CC, but, if it must, I can do it.

Thank you everyone for your input!
