@joooooooana Some of them are transfer, but one was posted at the exact time I checked my portal and he said today. So I thought he was waitlist. Unless, they were accepting transfer students at the same time. I don’t really know.
@YalesMyDream Congrats! Where are you planning to enroll?
@soulpup Thank you. I am not sure yet. It is between UW Seattle and UCLA. I want to go to UCLA but my family isn’t very supportive. They think LA is dangerous. I also never got to tour UCLA so I’m scared I won’t like it. However, I think it would be fun and an experience of a lifetime for me.
@YalesMyDream You have really great choices. I’m from Seattle and love the University of Washington. But I wanted to go OOS for college. My two finalists were UCLA & USC. I love them both. Tough decision, but I decided on USC. My sister also goes to school in LA. She’s a junior. I’m sorry your parents aren’t more supportive. I visited UCLA … beautiful campus, great environment, extremely safe neighborhood. You’d love it.
Does anyone know/have an assumption when the next wave will come??
Just got off the phone with an admission officer and apparently they haven’t started sending any decisions out to those on the waitlist…
@Danielleg3 The admissions officer might have been referring to the transfer students on the waitlist, they dont get off the waitlist until next month. Are you sure the officer was talking about freshmen on the waitlist or the transfers?
A lot of the people posting acceptances on twitter are probably transfer applicants? Because the freshmen acceptances lists 90,000+ applicants while the ones posted these few days say only around 22,000 applicants in the letter???
Yea I specifically asked about freshmen on the waitlist and she said not until after today:/ I’m not saying anyone is lying because she could just be misinformed, but I don’t know… @need2go2UCLA
In state students will know this friday because I’m basing it off of last years notifications, so if it is the same in state should be notified this friday!
@cheerxoxo1999 I hope so! Even if I get rejected I’d rather know sooner than later so I can focus on the school I committed to already.
If we contact Admissions, are they able to provide an approximate timeframe for the next wave?
@Danielleg3 I don’t think they tell you that you’re rejected? They just keep you waiting. I remember people found out they were rejected in June after a month of waiting… idk tho
If anyone is obsessed with the waitlist like me heres the threads from last year and the year before that
Theres a wave of in state acceptances probably coming on the 5th
Thank you guys for keeping us updated!! @Danielleg3 Same I’d like to know sooner than later… @akizaka46 I saw that rejections came out around July (?) last year… So I do think we keep on waiting
So just to be clear then, no admissions for waitlist have come out yet?
No, they have. I got in and so have some other people. I called the admissions office today to verify that I wasn’t the only one who got in. They said that some admissions officers might not have had all the information but they did admit a few people off the waitlist already because their numbers were down in certain majors.
@YalesMyDream Congrats! Can I ask what major you were accepted into?
Not to call anyone out on anything, but I have a hard time believing that UCLA would release waitlist decision prior to their own SIR deadline. Also, @YalesMyDream why would you call them to verify that information? If that is true, congratulations, and best of luck to you.
@elizrodriguez457 they do that often mainly for OOS students
