Hi just wondering what my chances are for transferring into UCLA as a junior. I am at Chapman University right now and finished with 3.6 GPA. I was on the chancellors list every year and was in the Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society as well. I wrote in my essays about a physical disability I have dealt with since birth and how I have not let it bring me down. I applied to Communications.

I think it might be a little hard to do just because UC gives priority to people transferring from community colleges. I know its considered really difficult to transfer between UCs.

Hate to be the debbie downer, but it’s a pretty far reach. Comm is one of the most competitive majors to gain admission to at UCLA (you must apply to it after enrolled (unless you’re transferring in), and people I know who’ve gained admission to the major have said they think the average GPA is a 3.75+ UCLA GPA.

In addition, as rosy stated, it is very, very difficult to gain admission to UCs from another 4- year. They give priority to people transferring from JCs, because they have to transfer somewhere, and you don’t (i/e you’re already at a 4 year).

But, in the words of Gretzky, you miss 100% of the shots you never take. So, good luck and prove me wrong!
