UCLA Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion

@collegeugh101 you work on Bernie’s campaign? That’s so cool!

I’m losing hoping just by looking at everyone’s stats

@StringTheory17 well, even though your stats are pretty low, having cancer is kind of a big block in your life? :slight_smile:

Here’s a recent article about admissions if you have some time to spare: http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/ucla-receives-record-number-of-applications-from-most-diverse-applicant-pool-to-date

“Despite the growth in the number of applications this year, the quality of UCLA’s applicant pool — as measured by traditional indicators of academic performance, such as GPA and admission test scores — also increased.”

that’s… not good… D:

Darn. Oh well.

Where is everyone from on here? I’m from LA.

@Dashley I am from South Florida

@dashley I’m near LA too!

Michigan :slight_smile:

@dashley I’m from Central Florida

@dashley I’m from LA too!

@dashley I’m from LA too!

@collegeugh101 I campaign for Bernie too!! Are you from the LA area? Maybe we have ran into each other at a campaigning event before lol

@chubii YES, THIS IS AWESOME - for me atleast, since I’m in the top 5% of my class and have a 2320 SAT, but only modest extracurriculars and stuff.

@McKilla99 wait how is that awesome… it means that everyone is going to have higher test scores so better stats will be common…?

@McKilla99 What’s your major?

@McKilla99 Materials Engineering. You?

@McKilla99 Aerospace Engineering

In case you guys haven’t heard, UCs got a record number of applicants this year (not a surprise). UCLA had 119,329 compared to 112,744 last year and surprisingly UCSD had more applicants than Berkeley.
