Thanks for clarifying @10s4life! That is a huge negative for UCLA. I also wonder if this promotes more competitiveness and cut throat behavior since the students are competing at the pre requisite level for the spots in their major. I believe that my D should go to a school that she 100% knows that she can study and major in biology. I don’t believe that Michigan has this issue! So, perhaps that will be the deciding factor.
I just got off the phone with 2 people from UCLA - both indicated that if the acceptance letter from the admission office indicates biology as a major then she is already a biology major and not a pre major. There would be no need to apply after/during sophmore year. What information does anyone have that does not support this claim?
Did anyone receive a call from a current UCLA student today? A student called me tonight and asked me a couple questions and I wanted to know if anyone else experienced the same thing. I was accepted btw.
Any other regents scholar doing the overnight stay program? Thinking about doing it but I’m unsure
@jcoc1093 I got a call from UCLA today as well but I missed it. Could you message me the # that called you? Maybe we got it from the same number.
I got a call as well. I was hoping it was from the Alumni Association but I guess not? What did they ask you about? @jcoc1093
Late but was accepted for L&S! Not even gonna bother posting stats coz no one can conclude anything certain from them. UCLA obviously has their own specific criteria that is unknown to us. Btw did receive Alumni invite.
@Zdawg99 you were notified of making the next round for the alumni scholarship?
@mario1999 No im referring to the email that was sent back in Feb.
@Zdawg99 oh sorry! So anxious to find out if I made the next round for interviews. I wonder when that is coming out.
@mario1999 Haha you’re fine dude. Me too, i spent a good chunk of February working on the app
@Zdawg99 I’m not even going to lie, I started and finished the app 3 hours before the due date, but it certainly didn’t ruin my chances like with regents that I also started the day before
Waitlisted but it wasn’t my first choice and that was very apparent.
To those of you who are getting calls:
It’s part of the UCLA retention programs campaign to get you guys to commit to Ucla. If you don’t answer it’s ok.
