@AllGloveNoHit Hope for good news on the rest of the schools!
@SCMHAALUM thank you, that’s kind of you. It will be what it will be, but UCLA was above the rest on my hope list.
@10s4life I heard that a couple years back, UCLA would send likely letters to engineering admits… What happened to that? Just wondering, because my friend told me that was how he found out back then.
How do I know if I received the alumni association scholarship or not? Would this be in my provisional award letter or is it separate?
@HopefulStud Oh yeah I meant to make a post about that. Instead of sending likely letters which just confuses parents and students we now just send invites after admissions are released.
Are rejections appealable? Just learned this is a thing.
@gobluealum Yes but only under very specific guidelines published in the Ucla under grad website. Essentially all appeals are rejected for the most part
Is the “Discover UCLA Engineering” email only sent to certain admitted engineering students or all?
Is this the email that was UCLA’s former “likely letter”?
Hi! Does UCLA send out tangible acceptance letters or packages? If so, does anyone know when?
@grundeis It used to be a likely letter sent to a select few. Everyone else got it once decisions came out. Now we just send it to invite everyone. But the link is already out. http://www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/discover/
By invite only the website means that only Ucla Engineering admits and their families may attend. Students looking to switch into engineering cannot attend. Emails will he sent near late March. The rsvp link becomes active then as well. Hope this helps. It’s the day after bruin day.
@smitchell You should get it within the next week. USPS is slow!!! It’s an entire package not just a letter.
@10s4life Do you know when we find out if we move on to the interview portion for the alumni scholarship? Thanks!
I understand my stats aren’t the highest in the world, but it’s a holistic review process and hopefully other applicants with not very high stats can undertstand numbers are just that. The UC system takes into account alot more than just scores – leadership and initiative is key!
