UCLA Class of 2022 - Applicant Thread

@collegedreamer167 The portal will inevitably crash no matter what. It always does.

I am freaking out! I am going to be a nervous wreck friday. I hope the site doesn’t crash. For my cal poly decision the website crashed and I couldn’t find out until hours later.

@soletrain4thewin Like @10s4life said, a crash is pretty much inevitable. But at least you won’t have to wait much longer.

If you want to avoid the crash just check a few hours later. That’s what I did. By 7pm everything was fine

Good news! My friend who’s apart of a leadership program was told by a UCLA Representative that they will be releasing scores this Friday! I’m so scared!

^You mean results right?

I got a request for supplemental essays in February. Are my chances of getting in higher now? My GPA is 3.66 and my ACT is a 28. My GPA is lower because of my early grades in high school and I explained that in my essays (it would be 4.15).

@latkes Most likely!! I have the same gpa and didn’t get that. Sounds like they at least had to have been in the middle about you to have requested further essays. I mean they wouldn’t ask if they weren’t considering you for admission at all you know? Super exciting, good luck!

@latkes I’m the exact opposite. I have a 4.3 GPA and a 1250 SAT. They asked me for a supplemental as well. I really hope that helped them make a good decision lol.

@stevensonjj0 Out of curiosity, with respect to post #771, where did you hear that UCSB Chancellor’s Reception invitations were for the top 15% of applicants? (I also asked this on the UCSB page, thinking you had posted it there.)

when will discover engineering emails come out?

@parent365 - we attended the UCSB Chancellor’s reception with my D. The head of admissions addressed the group and stated they represented the top 15% of applications. The Regents invitees were the top 1.5%

@letmeinpls1233 Very, very soon. Just got event details. It will be on April 15th the day after bruin day. All Engineering admits are encouraged to attend. I did even after I had already SIRd. It’s definitley an impressive event. Here is the home page. It is open to all admitted engineering students and their families. Students looking to switch into engineering cannot rsvp.

@Veronica02 Thanks for confirming.

When are the decision expected?

@Tennisboy2022 If you look at the previous replies on this post, they say that the decisions will either come out this Friday before 5pm or the next Friday.

@StressedMaya Thank You!

@tennisboy2022 read thread #805. It seems that a UCLA rep confirmed that decisions are coming out this friday

@stevensonjj0 did you submit solid essays? I heard supplemental are usually a good sign because they are interested in you

I got the supplemental questionnaire. I have a disability and my stats are way below the average for UCLA but I wrote really heartfelt essays on both the UC app and Supplemental questionnaire, and had some extracurriculars I was passionate for that related to my disability. My first essay was about one of my ECs (which I thought was a really good essay), and the second essay was about my disability (I didn’t think the essay was that strong but very straightforward). Because I have different circumstances that affected me freshman through junior year and just senior year, I sent them a letter through the portal talking about the circumstances that affected me and my grades senior year. Despite not having upward trend and getting a C senior year, I really hope they read the letter I sent them and considered it in admissions (they responded to the letter telling me that they will contact me if they have any more questions and to send the letter to the other UC schools as well). Just hoping some miracle can get me in because I really like the school! Good luck to all of you.
