UCLA Class of 2022 - Applicant Thread

Based on previous logic in this chat, does the fact that I did not receive a supplemental questionnaire mean I have good chance of getting in?
I realize that I am clearly not an instant in [1390 SAT, 4.2 Weighed capped OOS] but I am surely not an instant rejection [Captain of 2 teams (likely 3 this year with golf), many school leadership positions, attended Interlochen summer camp, job shadowings, good essays, intense passion in making music, etc.]
if definite acceptances and definite rejections don’t get the email, could this be good for me? Does this insert me into the acceptance pile?
I really wanna go here!!!

also I applied for Business Economics.

also I applied for Business Economics.

also I applied for Business Economics.

UCSD and UCLA are releasing decisions this Friday so I don’t think Irvine would also release on Friday. (If they do, that’s going to be a very stressful day lol) I think it’s either coming out tomorrow or Thursday

As I have heard from others, there is no internal agreement that schools avoid releasing on the same day. The sooner the better.

When will UC Irvine release its decisions? And is UCLA releasing this Friday after 5 pm?

I applied for the nursing program for UCLA, will I find out if I got into the major this Friday also? If I don’t get in, what would be my options? They offered me an alternative major, which I put “undeclared: life sciences.” But I will not be able to apply again to the nursing program after being rejected correct? Unless I plan to be a transfer student from a community college, but that is unlikely for me.

Does anyone know how many freshmen do they accept into their nursing program? Do they review the application holistically for this major as well or only focused on SAT/ACT scores and GPA combo? I’m really nervous because UCLA is my dream school for nursing and I hope I get in, but the sheer amount of competition and impaction really scares me. I worked hard on my application, especially the essays. Also one of my recommenders told me he received a call from UCLA nursing admissions asking further questions about me and also they said I was a strong candidate and he told them they would be lucky to have me. My recommendor was a mentor for me, he is now a physician scientist and was also a student at UCLA in 2010. I hope this may increase my chances.

What are my chances?
3.9 gpa
30ACT
undeclared physical science
Great ECs
Got into UCD btw

I want to pursue nursing as well. I did not feel personally confident about getting into nursing at UCLA considering they only accept 50 freshmen applicants. Sounds like you have a good shot though which is amazing. I wish you the best of luck!!

@“Eddie Vraney” it just means that UCLA had enough information to make a decision on you. Only *some borderline candidates get the supplemental. If your stats are not above the 75th percentile then the odds of you getting in are not in your favor if that makes sense.

Can anyone confirm if decisions are coming out this Friday the 16th? I know someone earlier said they heard from a UCLA representative that decisions will be released this Friday, but if anyone else has any inside info/general info please share. Thanks and good luck guys

ok. thanks.

Does anyone know when we’re supposed to hear the results of our UCLA alumni scholarship application? If the regional interviews start March 31 it should be soon, right?

I am kind of worried because I have a 4.3 GPA with a 1540 SAT but received the supplemental questionare. With my SAT over the 75th percentile, I am still a borderline candidate. Does anybody have any comments regarding this?

@UCLAthedream , if you are high stats and got the questionnaire, it could be a very good sign. As people commented on Berkeley forum, highs stats + questionnaire means you are borderline Regent.

@collegeconf2018 my friends mom is an admissions counselor, they confirmed 3/16 @ 4pm PST. Good luck everyone!! I’m terrified

A rep from admissions (not sure about her specific title) came to my school last semester to do a presentation of the school. She talked about the school + application process. In addition to that, she said that admission decisions should be released on March 28th at 5PM. Keep in mind, this is last semester which supports the option of Late March. This is the day before Berkeley releases. But it’s possible it could be released Friday. But UCLA Admission tweets about it a day before, right?

I mean at this point, we shouldn’t worry excessively because your application is in and most likely decided (we are 2-3 days away allegedly from finding out the decisions). Whatever the outcome is: Be proud that you at least applied to UCLA and you didn’t give up. Not a lot of people have the opportunity to do this and you should be glad that you had the opportunity to do so. I’m having mixed emotions about this like all of you regarding this whole process but I’m glad that I have been to go through this. We worked hard in school and tried our best academically. I’ve been waiting 4 years for this moment. Be proud of yourself and keep working hard for the next three months. I’ve been told that you have to think positive about this and NOT negatively. I wish you all the best.

@10s4life when you mentioned that we should be above the 75th percentile if we didn’t get the supplement, are we talking 75th percentile of applicants or admits
