CS for UCSD and Undeclared for UCLA.
D got into UCLA! I’ve heard that those who get into UCLA most likely will not get into UCB… how true is this? UCB is her top choice.
I have the same question…
Rejected for CS
1580 SAT, 4.12 UW GPA, 6 APs (as many as I have been able to take), STEM summer programs, several serious ECs, good recs, within top 2 highest GPAs in grade (school doesn’t publish official rankings), out-of-state, biracial female (black and white)
Got into Caltech (my top choice) EA and UCLA was my safety…
I’m honestly confused rn
@“collegeisscary…2022” Plenty of people have gotten into both. More sound advice is one acceptance here does not necessarily equate to one acceptance at the other, and one rejection here does not necessarily equate to one rejection at the other.
@hmp714 Quite shocking you got into caltech but rejected UCLA. But, UCLA should really never be anyone’s safety school due to its heavily competitive application cycle. Best of luck though, Caltech is a fabulous offer many would die to have.
Man, that’s crazy. I reckon it has something to do with the sheer quantity and volume of great apps. They must receive so many people who are similarly situated in terms of strong stats/ECs/awards in their apps that after a while it becomes a freakin blur as to what makes one applicant stronger than another. And as a result you get this randomized/crapshoot element to it.
Did anyone get regents for UCLA?
@Awakefish @“collegeisscary…2022” the two schools do not base their admissions off of each other, so I don’t think it’s correct to say that most people are accepted to ucla get rejected from berkeley. If you are qualified for UCLA, you are most likely qualified for Berkeley, as both are #1 public universities;) that being said, the college admission processes can be a bit random, but getting into UCLA is definitely a good sign at admission at Berkeley. Go bruins of course:)
Accepted by UCLA and UCSD
1540 SAT, 2 APs my senior year (all that my school offered), 4.13 GPA, out-of-state, 2 subject tests (800 in math 2 and 740 in lit), Asian
TBH my essays and extracurriculars were a blur, I finished on the day of submission
Idk anything about my recs except the teachers who wrote it
Accepted!
@Pastpower Go to https://my.ucla.edu, log in. Then click on “view your financial aid provisional award letter”.
@shannypantsisgay Yss! I was accepted with Regents!
Where did you see UCLA regents?
in the “provisional award” mine says
"
UNIVERSITY GRANT $11,410
UC GRANT TO PURCHASE USHIP $2,242
"
Is that not regents?
@Pastpower it’s in the financial aid section thing. i think it was called the provisional award letter?
I’ve made my MYUCLA account, but still can’t see my financial aid package. Is that only a thing Regents people are getting right now?
Go to “Finances and Jobs” >> “Awards and notices” there will be a letter
Accepted for nursing!
Can you tell me how UCLA housing works? Are you automatically assigned or can you request dorm hall preferences? Thanks!
@242466 for first years, you can request the type of rooms (classic, deluxe, plaza, suite) and your roommates if you choose not to do random, but you do not get to pick your specific dorm hall as a first year.
