@jeenn123 It’s not letting me post the link however the post title was “Was anyone accepted to UCLA via appeal today?”
@doudoubean I’m pretty sure that the physical sciences is a division of L&S
@aki2020 . . . can you explain your numbers in post #1036 a little more?
Regarding persons here who post saying that they got in, I would be a little suspicious of them if they signed up to say that they were accepted on whatever day without going into specifics and had a history of only one post. It’s like on social media, there are some who say they were accepted, but submit a profile stating that they’ll be majoring in business and marketing. They’re just doing it to gain following.
I don’t think anyone can state for sure that there was a wave involved today or any other day in admittance. There may have been a few – probably were, but the actual waves will probably unfortunately come after the first after they count and associate the SIRS to specific cohorts: by major, by residency, etc.
And Mrs. Copeland-Morgan’s statements didn’t seem to reflect that they’ve already offered a good amount. It seemed yet future, [edit:] with the article having a date stamp of a couple of days ago.
Is anyone else waiting until tomorrow to SIR to another school? I was hoping that there would be an IS wave tomorrow and I’m trying to prevent paying two deposits if possible bc college is expensive But are there a lot of forms to fill when you SIR and apply for housing? I want to give myself enough time to pay and fill out everything that I need to submit
@heyurcool I am waiting until tomorrow afternoon…seems reasonable right?
@heyurcool I’m gonna SIR tomorrow at around noon… hopefully that’s late enough that an IS wave would already be out but early enough to finish any forms if an IS wave doesn’t happen.
If housing application is not an issue (i.e. housing deadline May 1 at UCI), then why not delay SIR to save dual deposits!
Ok but tomorrow though, UCLA must pull in an IS wave cuz I can’t stand this anymore LMAO
@seylin4 @Dan2elCh5 fosho, I’m in state tho if it makes any difference, hopefully engineering waves comes out in a combined OOS+IS wave.
Do you guys think that there might be even a small chance that they would still accept more international students? Cause if not, I’ll just move on and forget abt it
Forget about it and move on. If it comes about, then it is great surpirse!
@janu2481 I am really sorry about that. Not sure if there will be an international students wave due to this visa issue because of COVID but I would just commit somewhere else if I were you and then look into UCLA later.
Regarding the mix of OOS and International students in the freshman class: off of recent history there have been about a 2:1 ratio of OOS to Int’l students who’ve been accepted and enroll. More Int’l students come in from the California community colleges which balances out the enrollments, but still with an edge to the OOS cohort. So this year isn’t necessarily a new policy of admittance of reducing Internationals.
yeah you’re right… whatever happens happens!
First of all the reality is that most of us will get rejected here but it is okay we have other great options ( although, I know that we all want to get in)! There will absolutely be more International acceptances but that does not mean you or any other person will be among them. I am IS and committed to UCSD but I will go to UCLA if I get in. However, I am ok with UCSD because it checks every box for me and I am really happy with the result!
Seriously what do you guys think about Usc applied math vs ucla pre data theory? I feel like now i just gotta give up my hope as an INT
I got waitlisted everywhere I applied to except one cal state–which means I’d have to stay home. I am still not sure if I am going to go to my safety or community for a year and then transfer
@Shdjdgd yes that’s absolutely correct… I’m going to ucsd too!!
Do not lose hope because there will be more acceptances! But if you do not have financial constraints, just go to USC in my opinion. USC is as good as UCLA, maybe even better in some areas. I am telling you this as a person whose dream school was UCLA!
@ceoofwaitlist Which cal state if you don’t mind me asking? I’m in a similar situation right now, trying to decide if I should commit to cal state LA or try to transfer into a better school after first going to community college…
