It’s in the College of L&S so the major itself doesn’t have much of a bearing.

this is right. So if you apply to L&S you compete with other applicants to L&S despite your major. If you apply to engineering then you compete with all other engineering majors only. I think this is how they do it in admissions. Thats what the admissions counselor told us

Everyone speculating about the different changes in the portal for different kids and what it means. I think it was a planned decoy operation between SD and LA to give LA time to finish loading up its portal.
