I want to transfer to ucla for comparative literature. I have a 3.3 right now, and by the spring I will finish all my general education requirements but not all my comp lit prerequisites. Will it hurt my chances if I apply twice or should I wait? Do I have a chance of getting in at all?

According to https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof13_mjr.htm , the average admitted GPA for Comp lit majors was a 3.37. You are in the running with a 3.3, but obviously the higher GPA the higher the likelihood of being accepted.

If you can, focus on the major pre-reqs. Since comp lit is not impacted, you aren’t forced to finish them, but you still want to complete as many as possible.

You could apply 749742890237842 times as long as you pay for each application fee, the UCs don’t care.

Comp Lit advisor said complete prereqs for better chance of acceptance. Good luck!
